Our goal
This website is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We want any veteran to be able to read it, get around it, and reach us, whatever device or assistive technology they use.
What we have done
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a skip link to the main content.
- Text and buttons are navy or red on white, or white on navy or red. Each of those combinations meets the WCAG AA contrast minimum.
- The layout adapts to phones, tablets, and desktops, and text can be zoomed in your browser.
- Photos have text alternatives. Decorative images and star ornaments are hidden from screen readers.
- The fade-in effect on scroll is turned off for visitors who prefer reduced motion. Nothing on the site flashes or plays automatically.
- There are no forms, logins, or time limits. Every action is a phone call or a text message.
- Pages use headings, landmarks, and standard HTML controls so screen readers can announce them properly.
Known limitations
- The charity tiles on the home page are placeholders until those organizations are confirmed. They don't yet link anywhere.
- Links to our companies, to charities, and to the Veterans Crisis Line go to other websites that we do not control.
- This site has not yet had a formal third-party accessibility audit.
Something in your way?
Call or text (562) 441-4652 and tell us what happened. We'll fix what we can. And if the website is the obstacle, you don't need it. Everything here can be done over the phone.
